Capturing the facts, emotions and mood on set is particularly important in documentary films. This can be quite a challenge when there's is heavy background noise pressent. For this reason, optimal planning and implementation of location sound recordings is a pre-requisite for perfect realisation of the task. BlackZebra configures the most optimal sound technically possible at every location and in all acoustic conditions.

The name behind BlackZebra is Jean-Michel Thomet, committing to your project with expertise, ideas and experience. In order to be able to implement an audio plan professionally, fundamental knowledge is required. The basis for such expertise is the professional training as a sound engineer. Jean-Michel Thomet graduated with distinction as an audio engineer at the SAE Institute Zurich (School of Audio Engineering) in 2015. Jean-Michel Thomet is currently employed as a lecturer for location sound at the SAE Institute Zurich.
BlackZebra is at home in the large region of Zug-Zurich, but projects are implemented both in Switzerland and abroad. For enquiries please fill out the contact form. Your requests will be answered as soon as possible. Offer requests are processed individually and are only available as whole-day or half-day orders. Fees are based on the SSFV guidelines (Schweizer Syndikat Film und Video) and equipment rental according to the price list of DMT (Dieter Meyer Tontechnik).
Jean-Michel Thomet’s main side project entitled Task Horizon is an internationally acclaimed drum & bass act hailing from Switzerland. Despite having released seminal material on some of the finest labels over the years, they set up Evolution Chamber Recordings, which provides an independent platform for their music. Jean-Michel Thomet can be found performing in clubs and festivals as a DJ for Task Horizon on the international circuit.
